Hair *

Hair is concentrated on those areas of the human body where the skin is especially exposed to abrasion. Consequently, the molecules on the skin of those areas are affected by a larger amount of energy than in other areas. Thus the molecules themselves release more energy, which can be assumed to cause the thicker hair in the area, which in turn protects the skin from further abrasion.

The abundance of male facial hair compared to female can be explained by the fact that men used to spend more time outdoors where the face was worn by draught of air, for example.
